Wikipedians in print
Tuesday, September 27th, 2005An Esquire editor asked Wikipedia users to edit an article he had written for the magazine. The piece was riddled with deliberate errors but these got quickly weeded out and even entire sections were rewritten from scratch. The article is quite appropriately about Wikipedia and an interesting read if you want in introduction to this modern day phenomenon.
The English version of Wikipedia is about to surpass 750.000 articles. Just to put the escalating growth into perspective: Wikipedia was started in 2001 and the English version had 364.000 articles per September 2004.
